Hi there! My name is Jorelene, and I created Page Chronicles so that I could discuss great books, share my ideas, and interact with other book lovers. I’m 20 years old and recently graduated university with a double major in computer science and business. In mid-June, I’ll be starting a full-time job in the tech industry.
I grew up being an avid reader. Back in elementary school, my addictions were The Magic Tree House, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Holes, and a myriad of other books. I remember being jealous of the kids who had detention or “time-out” because they received absolutely no interruption if they were to read a book. However I was always too afraid to get into trouble, so I didn’t ever test how that experience was (maybe I should have, thinking back on it. I definitely took all of my schooling before high school way too seriously). After elementary school, I would spend all of my free time in middle school and high school at either the school library or my city’s public library. I was that person who would request more books at both libraries because I would exhaust all the book options that I found interesting.
My current favorite books, in no particular order, include:
- The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons (Historical Fiction)
- Chasing Daisy by Paige Toon (Contemporary)
- The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey (Science Fiction)
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (Fantasy)
- Angelfall by Susan Ee (Dystopia, Paranormal)
I read a variety of book genres. That includes adult/new adult/young adult fiction, fantasy, dystopia, contemporary, science fiction, historical fiction, and even some inspiring non-fiction (although more sparingly). The only genres that I tend to avoid are horror and religion. Please let me know if you have any book recommendations! I love being introduced to fantastic, new books.
You can check out my Goodreads page for books that I’ve already read! I’ve been active on Goodreads since 2012, and I decided in 2016 that I wanted to dedicate time to write reviews and blog posts about me and my reading life. I hope you enjoy my blog posts, and please feel free to join in on my thoughts in the comments!
