June Book Haul and Wrap-Up

I know, I know. I’ve been pretty MIA this month. Let me explain.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know that I’m currently going through a major transition in my life – I graduated college in May, and I entered the working world soon after. I started my full-time job as a software engineer almost exactly three weeks ago, and everything since has been a whirlwind.

Once I get home from a day of work, I find myself too drained to read since I’ve just spent hours and hours of nonstop coding and discussing system architecture. I thought that I’d have more free time to read once I started work, but I didn’t consider the free mental energy I’d have. I therefore haven’t been reading much, so I don’t have content to write blog posts on. It’s been making me pretty sad honestly, but it’s been hard to muster the mental energy to delve into a book. That being said, I have an idea on a way for me to be more active and write more blog posts more easily – skip to my “End of the Month Thoughts” section in this post if you’re only interested in reading that!

Although I didn’t read a lot this month, I did buy and receive a lot of books. Even when busy, I can’t stop myself from buying books obsessively. 🙂

May Book Haul and Wrap-Up

Well, look at the date… It’s time for my May Wrap-Up!

This has been an unexpectedly hectic month. I graduated college in the middle of May, so I thought I would have a lot more free time to read books and write blog posts – however, it turned out to be quite the opposite. I didn’t have much alone time all month since I was hung out a lot with college friends (for the last time in a while), and then I visited family across the country. I therefore read at a slower pace and wasn’t as active in the book blogging community as I would’ve liked to be this month.
